Project Highlights

T2 Utility Engineers (T2ue), formerly TSH/TBE, completed a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigation for Holland Landing Group, Queensville Property Development Group and Sharon West Landowners Group Inc. all c/o MMM Group (MMM) as part of the York Durham Sanitary System expansion project. The project area is located in Bradford, East Gwillimbury and Newmarket in Ontario.  The field investigation was completed between August and December of 2009.  The purpose of the investigation was to identify the location of the existing underground utilities within the proposed project alignment in order to facilitate the design of the new trunk sewers.

The investigation was successful in confirming and further refining the location of the existing utilities, as well as identifying some features that were not shown on the existing record drawings that were collected from the various Utilities by MMM, and by T2ue. Some aspects of the investigation were altered slightly from the original proposal submission based on direction from MMM.  The CCTV inspection of the sewers was not completed; however, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) investigations, inverts, and culverts were added to the investigation.  T2ue identified several utilities that would have been impacted by the sewer construction.

The final product of the investigation is a composite utility drawing produced as per the ASCE Standard 38-02. The drawing accurately depicts the location of the underground utilities at the various quality levels.  The information gathered by the SUE investigation was a definite asset in the design stage of the project.
