Allocating Utility Risk on Design Build Projects

Utilities are recognized as one of the top-ranked risks to transportation infrastructure projects. This presentation will focus on best practices for risk allocation specific to Design-Build project delivery and the impact on solicitation process and deliverables. In addition, we will highlight some of the methods being used successfully by state Departments of Transportation across the country and the resulting benefits, including accelerated schedules and reduced claims caused by delays.

About the presenter:

Corey Biddle is the Business Development Manager at T2 Utility Engineers for the Western US. Corey has been in the Utility Engineering and Survey industry for nearly 15 years and has managed infrastructure projects throughout the United States. Corey’s focus is on the Transportation and Water/Wastewater markets where he consults with State DOTs and municipalities to provide insight into the implementation of Utility Engineering practices within their agencies. He is actively involved in industry organizations, including DBIA, ACEC, and APWA and is active on multiple Committees.
