Ed and Terry Plant Awarded CJFL Life Member Award

Congratulations to Ed and Terry Plant, who were honored by the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) with a Life Membership Award earlier this month. This award recognizes their two decades of volunteer involvement with CJFL, filling numerous roles across the league.

Ed started compiling statistics for CJFL teams in 1999, starting with the Edmonton Huskies and Wildcats. By the early 2000’s he became the head statistician for the Prairie Conference where he implemented a standard that allowed for consistent and accurate record-keeping across the league, allowing for conference records to be maintained and providing key information when selecting award winners. Today, Ed and Terry continue to complete stats for the 2 local junior teams, the national semifinals, and the Canadian Bowl, the junior national championship. Both have worked at the pro level with the Edmonton Eskimos (now renamed the Elks) of the Canadian Football League. Ed has, and Terry continues to, serve on the CJFL Executive.

When presenting the Life Member Award the CJFL said of Ed and Terry:

“It goes without any argument or debate that without Ed and Terry’s involvement in junior football over the last two decades the quality of our game would not be at the level and standard that it is at today. Each of their contributions as individuals would warrant their induction as lifetime members, but as a couple it would be hard pressed to find anybody who has contributed more to junior football in Canada.”

Ed has been with T2ue for 5 years, and works out of our Edmonton, AB office as a Senior Utility Coordinator. T2ue is thrilled to see his dedication, commitment to excellence, and accuracy recognized through his volunteer position with the CJFL. Congratulations Ed and Terry!
