Surveying

Surveying to precise standards

In the US, T2 Utility Engineers (T2ue) provides specialized geospatial surveying and mapping services, applying professional judgment to provide site-specific surveys of above and below-ground features. From an initial boundary survey to establishing project control to a topographic design or subsurface utility survey needed to design your project, our professionals combine comprehensive geospatial expertise with local jurisdictional knowledge to meet the unique needs of each project.

Our processes and deliverables are scrutinized from conception to completion in order to meet our own rigorous QA/QC policies and procedures. Regardless of project size or collection method, T2 Utility Engineers delivers. While we are an international firm, our survey teams develop deliverables that are standardized to the local, state/provincial, federal and/or international requirements of your project. Managing all surveying aspects of your project from start to finish is our specialty.

What defines our Surveying services?

Reliable processes optimized for each project.

Having reliable information on both above ground and below-ground features such as utilities and other infrastructure reduces the risks on projects. Our state-of-the-art equipment, collection methods, analysis, processing and mapping standards, provides reliable and detailed deliverables. From GPS, drones, robotic total stations and hydrographic survey vehicles to LiDAR and Multi-Channel Ground Penetrating Radar (MCGPR), our surveyors combine the use of traditional and the latest surveying technologies to provide technical insight and reliable data optimized for our clients' projects. Customized proprietary software for asset inventory and management allows us to streamline data collection and provide deliverables more efficiently and accurately than traditional data collection methods. Having one of the first IDS MCGPR Stream units in the country allows T2ue to accurately map your subsurface utility infrastructure in 3D providing a more accurate depiction than conventional subsurface utility detection methods.

Our team’s goal is to minimize your risk related to utilities and other unknowns within the infrastructure project footprint, working closely with project stakeholders. T2 Utility Engineers dedicated staff of professionals make the difference. Our team has the depth and breadth of experience, which provides our clients with highly informed perspectives on the surveying techniques and processes that will produce the best results for each project. Our survey findings can be integrated with T2ue’s Subsurface Utility Engineering and Utility Coordination services, providing clients and owners with a single resource for reliable information and peace of mind. Our passion for what we do translates into high customer satisfaction and high levels of repeat clients. Get in touch to learn how we can help you.

LiDAR Scanning

LiDAR scanning technology provides panoramic 360 degree imagery on each scan, surpassing the accuracy of a conventional surveying approach. All visible improvements in the field are captured, providing clear documentation for design, pre-construction as well as improved bidding on projects as more accurate information can be addressed than a conventional survey. In addition, the use of LiDAR scanning improves field staff safety, as scans can be conducted from a “safe zone”, even in areas of traffic congestion or other situations. All of the T2ue teams have extensive experience integrating LiDAR scanning with other survey and Subsurface Utility Engineering investigation techniques, such as MCGPR, providing clients with outstanding visual reporting and analysis of above ground and underground features and utilities. Drones/ Unmanned Aerial System (UAS)

Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), also known as drones, obtain highly accurate, geo-referenced aerial imagery and point cloud data. This information is used to provide detailed information, improving the success of your project.

T2 Utility Engineers has multiple types of drones. We select the one most appropriate for each project. Our newest addition to the fleet is the Harris Carrier H-6 Hybrid heavy lift drone, equipped with state-of-the-art RIEGL VUX-1UAV22 captures highly accurate and detailed point cloud data for design projects. High resolution imagery is simultaneously captured to colorize the point cloud, providing more realistic detail of the project site. Drones also allow access to difficult or remote sites while improving safety for field crews.

T2ue has experienced FAA-107 certified pilots using drones for topographic and corridor mapping, material pile volumes, construction progress imagery, and large boundary litigation. Many projects can directly benefit from drone technology and we’re identifying new opportunities for projects to use UAS. Contact us to discuss whether remote sensing (UAS) technology can benefit your project.

We Deliver

Deliverables are often driven by local, state or provincial statutes and requirements as well as client needs. The T2ue team provides electronic deliverables in a multitude of formats and standards, such as AutoCAD, Micro station, OpenRoads Design (ORD) and GIS to name a few. Hard copy deliverables are provided when signed and embossed sealed maps are required to meet jurisdictional requirements. Our deliverables go through extensive QA/QC checks designed to eliminate the element of human and mechanical errors, assuring our clients of accurate and precise data for their acquisition, design and construction needs.
