Edmonton SE/W LRT project

T2 Utility Engineers (T2ue), formerly TSH/TBE, completed a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Investigation for AECOM / City of Edmonton for the Valley Line LRT.

The new Edmonton transit plan involved a new low-floor LRT including 27km of double track with a 500m tunnel and 2km on elevated structure as well as 28 stations. The project will also include a new light rail vehicle operation and maintenance facility, 5 transit centres, 2 park and ride facilities and several bridges, including one over the North Saskatchewan River.

Several field investigations were completed between August and December 2012. The purpose of the investigation was to identify the location of the existing underground utilities and the municipal infrastructure.
The investigation focused on the areas within the proposed track bed and other proposed transit facilities. Numerous conflicts were identified for private utilities and the municipal infrastructure.
