Hamilton Wastewater Treatment Plant

T2 Utility Engineers (T2ue), completed a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigation for the City of Hamilton in October 2016. The project involved a major upgrade to the Woodward Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant in the City of Hamilton. The purpose of the investigation was to locate the key utilities within the project limits.

Using the record information obtained as a reference, T2ue completed the field investigation using electromagnetic cable locate equipment to designate the horizontal location of the existing underground utilities within the area. In addition, invert information was collected for manholes and catch basins within the study area. Confined apace entries were done at key large chambers to gather detailed information on sewer connections. All utility marks were surveyed, compiled into a utility drawing and overlaid onto the base plan provided by CH2M Hill.

The investigation was successful in confirming and further refining the location of the utilities within the area of concern. Information gathered by the SUE investigation was a definite asset in the design stage of the project as designers were able to confidently rely on the available information.
