Pensacola Bay Bridge Replacement / Roundabout Design Build

T2 Utility Engineers provided full Utility Engineering services as part of the Design Build team on this high-profile Florida DOT District 3 project. T2ue started Utility Coordination and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations early in the design phase to map utilities and identify conflicts giving the design team information to manage and mitigate, reducing construction delays.

The SUE investigation found the location of utilities varied by as much as 8-10’ from records. A critical 24” water main that crosses the bay within the project footprint was able to be relocated during peak tourist season without disruption of service.

Services included full 3D topo/DTM and hydrographic survey data, mobile and terrestrial LIDAR, along with SUE designating and locating utilities to ASCE Quality levels. The T2ue team precisely mapped the horizontal and vertical position, size, type and orientation of underground utilities within the project limits, providing reliable and detailed information for the design and construction teams. T2ue’s coordination of the UC, survey, and SUE services supported the contractor, design team, and Utility Agency owner stakeholders in a streamlined approach, contributing to the successful mitigation and management of utility risks to the project.
