The targeted use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS or “drones”) is being used in innovative ways to gather a wide range of data and visual information. Using UAS as a surveying tool continues to evolve as technology and data analysis improves.

T2ue is working closely with the Georgia DOT (GDOT) to implement an innovative approach to data capture that adds to their existing permitting system. T2ue field staff provide additional boots-on-the-ground for the DOT, but the real value comes from our use of integrated digital technology that is enhancing the DOTs management of Right of Way corridors and providing digital tracking and mapping for utility permitting encroachments.

Public agencies have begun asking for qualifications to prove individual’s competence and knowledge of Utility Investigations and Utility Coordination, however, no industry standard certifications currently exist. UESI has begun actively working with ASCE’s certification entity to solve this problem.
