Vancouver Airport Redevelopment

T2 Utility Engineers (T2ue) completed a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigation for Vancouver Airport Authority in February, 2013. The purpose of the investigation was to identify the utilities that were present to aid with the upcoming design of the new ETF project.

Using the record information provided by the Vancouver Airport Authority as a reference, T2ue completed the field investigation using electromagnetic cable locate equipment to designate the horizontal alignment of utilities within the project area. Inverts data was also collected at key locations within the project areas.  The information was then surveyed and a drawing showing the underground utilities at the appropriate quality level was created.

The investigation was successful in confirming and further refining the location of the utilities within the area of concern. Information gathered by the SUE investigation was a definite asset in the design stage of the project as designers were able to confidently rely on the available information.
