Project Highlights

T2 Utility Engineers uses advanced subsurface utility locating technologies as part of FHWA investigations.

The Strategic Highway Research Program was authorized by Congress to find strategic solutions to improve highway safety, reduce congestion, and improve maintenance methods for roads and bridges. In Phase 2, utility locating technologies were added to the research program. T2 Utility Engineers was part of Phase1 and was selected for the SHRP2 program due to our depth of expertise in subsurface utility / geophysical investigations for Departments of Transportation (DOTs) across the United States.

T2’s skilled team of geophysicists and utility engineering professionals prepared for data collection, data processing, integration and analysis of the effectiveness of Multi-channel GPR (MCGPR) and Time-Domain Electromagnetic Induction (TDEMI). The findings helped improve the understanding of the limitations and advantages of these technologies in a variety of situations. We also documented the advantages of using these technologies to find other subsurface anomalies and features.

T2 implemented the results of the research for state DOT projects in Oregon, Ohio, Virginia, and Arkansas.
